List of current projects

For my own reference I would like to list all of my current projects that I am diligently working on.

Projects:
  • Online Portfolio //Flash game/Portfolio
  • Online Portfolio //HTML version/Non-game flash version
  • Flash Animation //Soon to be posted
  • Unknown Game //Game I'm working on for my Portfolio
  • Custom Computer Case
  • Sequel to Flash Animation //Paper design first
  • My first song with Acid Pro 6 //Trying to compose my own song
  • Nintendo Wi-fi Community site //Site that I will reveal later
I'm not really going to go in depth in detail of the projects just yet. I felt that I needed to make a list for my own personal benefit, and as I complete them or work on them I should begin to post them as I feel fit. Anyways, this should be good for now.

2 Months of no updates?!

Yep, I was gone for like 2 months. Got a job at Gamestop and got school at ECPI. Anyways, from my last post I said I would have some updates that would only take 2 days, well it turned to 2 months.

Basically I got the first stage ( the middle stage) done to the point where you can die and restart the level, and actually beat it.

updates:
- When you die you restart the stage. (No lives yet)
- After you beat the last enemy, he drops a scroll and when you pick it up you finish the stage.
- When you beat the stage, the selection box becomes beaten.
- Still only the middle stage available.

To-do list:
- Next stage layout.
- Debate whether or not I want to add a boss.
- New enemies.
- Add lives to the main character.
- and many many more.

Here's the latest build: Click Here

And now to watch the latest episode of heroes, and the last I heard of the season.

-Added music to boss select screen.
-Added sound effects on boss select screen.
-Added a sound effect when picking up skills.

Online Portfolio Project update

I was unable to accomplish much today. Personal errands and such took away much of my free time today, but I did manage to update the project some more.

I finished stage 1-2's layout, of course just a test run, nothing final. Take a gander: Here

Update list:
-Made the engine much more dynamic.
-Optimization of engine was enhanced.
-Removed the Ricochet of bullets from walls. (Found it to be rather useless for now)
-Added a quick door to the next stage. (when I say quick, I mean temporary)
-Half of the stage 1-2 is accessible, so don't expect much.

That pretty much sums up the updates. Here is the final result of today's updates: Here

To-do list:
-Finish adding all of the props to stage 1-2.
-Make a nicer door for stage 1-1 to 1-2.
-Make the layout for the final room, stage 1-3.
-Add a new enemy into the game.

Conclusion:
Things are a bit slower than usual, but still going forward as planned. About 1% closer to completion.
End result: 10% complete

Online Portfolio Project Status

I figured since I have this tool, the blog so to speak, I might as well make some use of it. Using it to keep track of my progress in my current projects. This is for my own personal organization; For those who can't take a hint, your opinion is of course not wanted, unless you have any kind of encouragement to proceed with the project, or interests. Your negative opinions can take its leave. With that said, quick briefing of my online portfolio project.

Summary:

Basically, all these years of messing with Flash (A program used for animations, websites, and even games) I decided it was finally time to post a meaningful piece of my work on the internet. I take pride in my work, so obviously I will never release anything I am not happy with, at it's final stage of course. During its alpha stages, I like to release a few "demos" for people to see what I am currently working on. (Current demo: Here)

Kind of late on the summary. However, a background is always nice. Anyways, This is just the alpha stages of the work, as you can see it's a sort of incomplete emulation of Megaman 3.

Current status:

Right now what is working is the main menu, pushing z while "Game Start" selected, will bring you to the stage select screen. The only one that is available at the moment is the middle one. This will bring you to a very plain stage, with one enemy in it. This enemy's AI is simply to jump toward the main character.

The main character as of now is able to run, jump, slide, and shoot. Currently added was the enemy dropping items. If you kill the enemy right now, I have set that the enemy to drop a skill item (double jump) at 100% for testing purposes. Also recently added, is the when a bullet clashes with either the left or right wall, it will ricochet either up or down (which is random).

Forgot to mention that the main character had a life bar, and is able to die. The enemy is able to die as well.

To-do list:

-Construct the other stages.

-Add content to each section(stage) of the site.

-Add a few more enemies.

-Add health items and maybe more skills.

-Integrate scrolling stages.

Conclusion:

Progress is slowly pushing its way to stability. With this blog I will be able to organize my thoughts and make a more smooth decision on what to work on. So far the site is no where near in its perfection stages, but it will come surely.

Final percentage completion of estimate of the project for today: 9%
